What does the pass include?
It allows unlimited travel for 30 consecutive days on:
- Renfe Cercanías (commuter rail services)
- Renfe Media Distancia (regional trains)
- State-operated interregional bus lines
In regions such as Valencia, this means faster and more flexible connections between urban centres and other cities served by state transport networks, using both rail and long-distance bus services.
Costs and benefits
The monthly subscription is priced as follows:
- €60 per month for adults
- €30 per month for young people up to 26 years old
To access the reduced fare, young users must register on the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility’s portal and obtain a discount code to apply at the time of purchase.
These fares are intended to significantly reduce commuting costs while promoting a shift away from private vehicles toward public transport.
Limitations and future developments
At present, the pass does not cover urban transport, such as metros, trams, or local bus services. Authorities have stated their intention to gradually integrate these systems, but implementation will depend on agreements with autonomous communities and local transport operators.
In practical terms, while the pass can already be used nationwide for regional trains and state buses, urban transport in Valencia (such as Metrovalencia) will still require a separate ticket until full integration is achieved.
